SterilisationWe have a dedicated decontamination centre which is divided into two rooms- a 'dirty' room where the used instruments are prepared and scrubbed prior to transfer to the 'clean' sterilisation room where these are instruments are sterilised in the autoclaves before being redistributed to the appropriate treatment rooms.
The decontamination centre is at the top of the building so you will often see us going up and down the stairs with specially designed trays for the transport of these instruments. This certainly helps with our fitness and the downward journey always puts a smile on our faces!! All our sterilising equipment is tested daily prior to your appointments and we use disposable instruments where possible (these are dealt with in the surgery and not carried around the practice). Our equipment undergoes regular and rigorous safety checks so that you can be treated in the safest possible environment. Our clinical teams regularly attend updates on training in cross-infection control with your safety and wellbeing as our utmost priority. |
